Marginful works with two currencies:

  • Store currency: the currency of your Shopify store. Store settings such as handling or return shipping are entered in it.
  • Reporting currency: the currency of your workspace. Consolidated views across several stores, and money metrics, are shown in it.

Supported currencies are USD, EUR, GBP, ILS and GEL.

Exchange rates

  • Marginful stores the European Central Bank's daily reference rates, fetched once a day after they are published.
  • A conversion uses the most recent stored rate on or before the day of the transaction.
  • Each conversion records the rate it used, so historical reports stay stable.

Example: an expense of €1,000 on a day when 1 EUR = 1.08 USD is shown as $1,080 in a USD workspace.

Amounts in other currencies

  • Costs: a cost row can have its own currency. It is converted when an order is costed.
  • Ad spend: converted from the ad account's currency for each day.
  • Expenses: shown in their own currency in the list and converted for consolidated figures.
