Your first sync
What Marginful imports from Shopify, how far back it goes and how it stays up to date.
On this page
Right after install, Marginful runs a full import of your store. After that it stays up to date on its own.
What the first sync imports
- Shop details: name, currency, time zone and country.
- Catalog: products, variants, SKUs, prices, the unit cost you set in Shopify, weights, collections and inventory quantities.
- Orders: line items, discounts, taxes, shipping lines, payment gateway, refunds, fulfillments and tags.
- Customers: a minimised record only. See Data and encryption.
How far back it goes
Shopify shows apps the last 60 days of orders by default. To bring in older orders, use Smart import with the Older orders data type.
Your plan also sets how much history you can view. See Plan limits.
How it stays up to date
| What | How often |
|---|---|
| New and updated orders, refunds and products | As they happen (Shopify webhooks), plus a check every 15 minutes |
| Ad spend | Every hour |
| Real payment fees (Shopify Payments, PayPal, Stripe) | Every 6 hours |
| Accounting expenses | Once a day |
| Exchange rates | Once a day |
| Inventory snapshot | Once a day |
When you change a cost or a rule, Marginful recalculates profit for the affected orders in the background.
Check the result
Open Settings → Integrations & data health. It shows the last sync and any problem Shopify reported.
Products came in but no orders?
Shopify can return products and still hide orders, for example when an access permission is missing. Marginful detects this and explains what to do. See Orders are missing.
