On this page

Shopify is Marginful's main data source. The connection is made when you install the app. See Install Marginful.

Access scopes

All scopes are read-only. Marginful never requests write access.

ScopeUsed for
read_productsProducts, variants, SKUs, prices, Shopify unit costs, collections
read_inventoryStock levels for inventory value, stockout alerts and storage costs
read_ordersOrders, refunds, fulfillments, discounts, taxes and shipping
read_customersRecognising new and returning customers
read_shopify_payments_accounts, read_shopify_payments_payoutsReal Shopify Payments fees

What stays in sync

  • Order, refund and product changes arrive as Shopify webhooks a few moments after they happen.
  • Every 15 minutes, Marginful also checks for anything it missed.
  • Inventory is snapshotted once a day.

Order history

Shopify shows apps the last 60 days of orders. Import older orders with Smart import.

Uninstalling

When you uninstall, the access token is revoked and deleted and syncing stops. Shopify sends a deletion request 48 hours later, and Marginful then deletes the store and all of its data. See Data retention.
