Connect ChatGPTStarter+

Once connected, you can ask ChatGPT about your profit, products, marketing and costs, and it reads your Marginful numbers directly.

What you need

• Your Marginful connector link, from AI connections.
• A ChatGPT workspace that allows custom apps through developer mode. OpenAI limits this to certain plans, so check its current requirements.
• Admin or owner access to the workspace to switch developer mode on.

OpenAI renamed "connectors" to "apps". They are the same thing.

Steps

1. Switch on developer mode

   A workspace admin enables custom MCP connectors in the workspace settings.

2. Create the app

   Go to Settings → Apps & Connectors and choose Create. Name it "Marginful", add a short description such as "Profit, orders, marketing and costs for my store", and paste the connector link.

3. Sign in and approve

   ChatGPT opens Marginful. Sign in, check the workspace, and press Approve. ChatGPT then lists the available tools.

4. Use it in a chat

   Open a new chat, choose Marginful from the tools menu, and ask your question. To share it with your team, a workspace admin publishes the app.

Try it

Ask: "What is my net profit for the last 30 days?"

Troubleshooting

• No Create button. Developer mode has to be switched on by a workspace admin first.
• The connection test fails. Check the link is complete and reachable from the internet.
• Teammates cannot see it. An admin needs to publish the app for the workspace.
